India’s taxation system  a major reform
with the launch of Goods and Services Tax (GST). In 9September  2025, the Government of India
introduced GST 2.0 with the objective of simplifying tax slabs, reducing additional cess, and
making vehicles more affordable and Reliable  for customers. Large SUVs, such as the Mahindra Scorpio-N,

witnessed a direct impact in terms of reduced tax burden.
In the earlier GST framework, big SUVs above 4 meters  in length with higher engine capacity
attracted nearly 48% tax  Under GST 2.0, this has been rationalized to 40%.
Mahindra has confirmed that it will pass on the full benefit customers  of this tax reduction directly to
customers. This has resulted in Big savings for Scorpio-N buyers, sometimes as high as
₹1.45 lakh to ₹2.15 lakh, depending on the variant and  dealer offers

GST 2.0 Mahindra scorpio N Benefit 1.50lakh to 2.10lakh

Intruduction: Old GST

Old GST Framework (Pre-GST 2.0) – SUVs
Scorpio-N attracted 48% tax including cess and other levies. – If the base ex-showroom price
was ₹13.2 lakh, taxes added nearly ₹6.33 lakh, taking the effective price close to ₹19.5 lakh
before registration and insurance.

New GST 2.0 Framework – Tax reduced to 40% flat On the same base price of ₹13.2
lakh, the tax amounts to ₹5.28 lakh, making the ex-showroom price around ₹18.48 lakh. – Net
savings: ₹1.05 lakh on ex-showroom alone. – With Mahindra’s declared customer benefits, total
relief goes up to ₹1.45 lakh. Some reports even highlight total benefits (including dealer discounts,
exchange bonuses, festive schemes) up to ₹2.15 lakh.

Practical Example of Savings —————————– Let’s break down an illustrative
calculation: – Base Price (Excluding GST) = ₹13,20,000 – Old GST + Cess @ 48% = ₹6,33,600 –
Total Price (Old GST Regime) = ₹19,53,600
With GST 2.0: – New GST @ 40% = ₹5,28,000 – Total Price (GST 2.0 Regime) = ₹18,48,000 –
Direct Tax Saving = ₹1,05,600**
Now add Mahindra’s full GST benefit transfer + promotional discounts = up to ₹1.45 to ₹2.15
lakh depending on trim. This makes the Scorpio-N much more attractive in the competitive and  Luxurious  SUV
segment.

Challenges and Considerations —————————— – **Variant-wise Difference**: Savings
vary depending on Scorpio-N variant  trims (Z2, Z4, Z6, Z8, Z8L). – **State-level Charges**: Some states
impose additional levies which may reduce the overall benefit. – **Dealer Practices**: Customers
should ensure the declared GST 2.0 benefit is transparently passed on. – **Customer
Expectations**: Even after reductions, Scorpio-N remains a premium SUV, and affordability
depends on financing options.GST 2.0 Mahindra scorpio N Benefit 1.50lakh to 2.10lakh

Future Outlook ————— GST 2.0 is expected to BIG move indian market SUV sales in India. Mahindra, being a
dominant player in the SUV market, will likely benefit the most. With the Scorpio-N becoming
more accessible price-wise, its demand could rise, putting pressure on rivals in the mid to full-size
SUV segment. This reform not only benefits customers but also strengthens the automotive

ecosystem by encouraging higher sales volumes.
Conclusion ———- The transition from the old GST structure to GST 2.0 to old GST is a win-win situation for
both customers and manufacturers. For Scorpio-N buyers, the direct tax reduction and Mahindra’s
commitment to pass on the entire benefit results in savings of over ₹1 lakh to ₹2 lakh.

This makes
the Scorpio-N an even stronger value proposition in India’s competitive SUV market.
In essence, GST 2.0 is not just a tax reform—it’s a customer-friendly policy that transforms
affordability. Scorpio-N stands out as one of the biggest beneficiaries, offering more value for
money and reaffirming Mahindra’s leadership in the SUV space.GST 2.0 Mahindra scorpio N Benefit 1.50lakh to 2.10lakh
